Pooja Thali

Pooja thali is used in the pujas which are offered to our gods and goddesses. There are different pooja thalis for different pujas. Diwali pooja thali is quiet different from the pooja thali used in Raksha Bandhan. These pooja thalis are decorated with various items which are used in the poojas.

Pooja or worshipping or to some extent it can be said as performance of prayer along with other religious activities is elaborately performed every day in various temples and various Hindu houses. The main purpose of pooja ritual is to set up and create spiritual forces in and around us.

There are several ways to decorate a pooja thali and it gives a divine feeling to decorate it. You can choose a thali which is made up of steel, silver, gold, brass or any other type of metal. The size and shape of pooja thalis may vary from oval, round or any other shape. You can just cover the thali with colored packing paper sheet and then put the pooja items on it. To make it more attractive, draw the sanctum symbols of the 'Swastika', the 'Om' and the 'Shree' on the thali with the help of roli paste. You can also cover the thali with betel leaves and it gives a green color to your thali and after placing the pooja accessories over the thali it looks very beautiful and divine. Pooja thali can also be covered with petals of different flowers like rose, marigold, etc. Then you may decorate the thali with various petals with single color or colors with different combinations. Different rangoli colors can also be used to give a beautiful design to your pooja thali.
